Age Restricted Products

Under the relevant Acts of Irish Law, it is an offence to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.

It is for that reason that we have had to place a banner asking the consumer to verify that they are 18 years of age, or older, before proceeding to place any orders for age restricted products, such as alcohol. Alcohol may not be sold to minors under the age of 18, that is the Law.

It must further be noted that when ordering alcohol, a person is required to pay on the premises, or via a credit card online, or over the phone.  We therefore had to remove the Cash on Delivery option, so as to comply with this stipulation. This is to further try and verify that the consumer is of a legal age when attempting to purchase any age restricted products.

"It is an offence for a licensee to “sell or deliver, or to permit any other person to sell or deliver, alcohol to any person for consumption off his or her premises by a person under the age of 18 years in any place except with the explicit consent of the person’s parent or guardian in a private residence in which he or she is present either as of right or with permission”. Therefore, when delivering such age restricted products, it must be borne in mind that the receiver will have to produce an official form of Identity where the age of the receiver can be verified before handing over any age restricted products. If such a person cannot produce such proof, then the items will be returned to the premises of Stash SA, and the sale nullified at the consumers expense, to cover the cost of the return shipment. The consumer will however be given a grace period of 14 (fourteen) calendar days to produce such proof, and reimburse the shipment costs, at which stage the products will then be released to the consumer.
